Workshop for managers!

In the workshop “Leading in Transformation” by ILTIS GmbH, we provided our managers with targeted further training. For us, transformation not only means technical innovations, but also adapting our management styles, collaboration and corporate structures. We focused on the following points:

  • Clear responsibilities - Who is responsible for which processes?
  • Improved collaboration - how do we promote an open and agile management culture?
  • Structured change - What measures will ensure our long-term success?

The key to a successful transformation lies in the further development of our employees. Only when our managers have clarity and certainty can change succeed in the long term.

Round up, please!

We are pleased to announce a new initiative to support the SBBZ Karl-Wacker-Schule in Donaueschingen. With immediate effect, our customers have the option of rounding up their invoice amounts. The difference will be donated directly to the school.

The Karl Wacker School is a special education and counselling centre with a focus on intellectual development. In addition to traditional subjects such as German and maths, there is a particular focus on independent living. Pupils learn how to cope with everyday life, master household tasks and drive safely in traffic.

When paying the bill, our customers can simply round up the amount. The difference is donated directly to the Karl Wacker School. Every cent counts and helps! There are many reasons for rounding up. The donations benefit a local school and many small amounts add up to a lot of help.

We at WS Wieländer+Schill are delighted to be able to make a contribution to supporting the Karl Wacker School together with our customers.

AUTOMECHANIKA 2024

2024 was a special year for WS Wieländer+Schill, as we celebrated our 50th anniversary. Half a century of innovation, quality and partnership - that had to be celebrated in style!

The highlight of the year was undoubtedly our stand party at the Automechanika in Frankfurt. We invited partners, car manufacturers, suppliers and many other guests to celebrate this special occasion with us. With music and delicious appetisers, the atmosphere was festive and exuberant. It was a wonderful opportunity to cultivate old friendships and make new contacts.

We were particularly pleased to welcome our former managing directors, Mr. Lay and Mr. Strasser, as well as one of our founding members, Mr. Schill. Their presence was a special honour and reminded us of the beginnings of our company and the many milestones we have achieved together.

WisPE

Knowledge-Based Production Assistance Based on Image- and Sensor-Based Externalization of Tacit Knowledge

On September 18, 2024, our first consortium meeting for the WisPE project finally took place in person! After numerous virtual meetings, it was great to see the project partners face to face.

As part of the WisPE project, we are developing a knowledge-based production assistance system that builds on the image- and sensor-based externalization of tacit knowledge. The focus is on a human-centered design: the goal is not only to capture employees' interactions but also to make them intuitively and efficiently usable in order to seamlessly transfer knowledge.

In the context of demographic change and a shortage of skilled workers in production, we aim to support new employees in benefiting quickly and easily from the experiences of their more experienced colleagues. The automated capture and transfer of tacit knowledge is intended to foster a culture of learning and collaboration.

The WisPE project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), co-financed by ESF-Plus, and supervised by the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe (PTKA) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). We are involved as an application partner in integrating the developments into the assembly process.

Change in Management at WS Wieländer+Schill

A breath of fresh air is coming to the leadership team at WS Wieländer+Schill in the new year.

After 17 years, Dr. Norbert Lay is leaving the company and entering a well-deserved retirement. He is passing on his responsibilities to Stephan Paschke. Together with Manfred Bäurer, he will continue to lead the company in the future.

Furthermore, Thorsten Herfort will join the ownership structure.

We look forward to a continued strong representation of WS Wieländer+Schill and bid farewell to an impressive colleague and managing director, saying THANK YOU for a great time.
